Biography : Noise Forest

Founded by 5 blocks in 1992 the band started off playing hardcore with a pinch of metal. The guitars were tuned in the usual way then. "Noise Forest" was known as a bunch of guys getting pretty excsssive in the gigs, so only a few demos were required by the audience. The demo "Noise Forest" was recorded in the rehearsal room in 1992. Soon after that 3 guys left the band but luckily owe (guitar) and gichti (drums) came across olli (bass). In this classical constellation the string fraction was giving the vocal parts now. The music can be discribed as much more metal like, tricky and weird with the guitars being turned 3 halfsteps under "e". The hardcore scene seemed to really go for it. Demo "Slow Motion Nightmare" was recorded by ulf nagel in may 1994.

Within the next year the band went through a highly experimental phase. After having tried out 7 and 8 halfsteps under normal, they decided on tuning the guitar 6 halfsteps under "e" and olli started to put in samples. The songs turned slower and the gigs more foggy. Demo "Slow Virus Disease" was recorded in ulf nagel's small studio in1995. Too bad there was very little response. Pete of bonehouse suggested to add aguitar to complete the sound. That`s how ronnie (guitar) joined Noise Forest. He also supportes the vocal parts and the band now had actually 3 singers. Together with NOTHING REMAINS Noise Forest went touring to support FORCED TO DECAY to introducing their first lp. The czech winter (- 30 degree) of 1996/97 sure made the tour unforgettable... after that tour olli specified on samples and vocal. From then on boris did the bass parts.

After gichti had left Noise Forest with a serious problem still a demo could be recorded: "Bring Them to Heel" of 1997 (with great help from session drummer oliver kukla and, of course, ulf nagel who again did a great job). Pretty strange almost nobody showed reaction on that probably most tricky, weired and complex pice ever done by Noise Forest. The drummer problem got even worst and not enough olli, too, left the band. Boris now was giving vocal parts but doing gigs was impossible.
In 1999 peter joined the band as a drummer who luckily stayed a while, so that demo no. 5 "A Sequence of Reality" could be made. It was the first one on cd. The music was straighter now with only 5 halfsteps under normal, midtempo and a good pinch of groove, really. The samples had also been thrown out. "A Sequence of Reality" helped Noise Forest to a contract with deleria records and reactions of labels and press were great.

The first offical longplayer "Mortal Machines" (deliria rec.) containing material from the demo plus six additional tracks is out since 07.02.2000. In the end of 1999 Noise Forest had also recorded "my sadistic killing spree" for a G. G. ALLIN TRIBUTE SAMPLER for deliria at northern light studio. Peter left Noise Forest before in may 2000 Jürgen of SCODA BLUSH (who toured with sisters of mercy before splitting up) joined the band and only after 4 weeks did the first gig.

In november 2000 Noise Forest recorded "no class" and "I'll be your sister" at studio one (rendsburg) for MOTORHEAD TRIBUTE SAMPLER "motörmorphösis part one and two", out on REMEDY RECORDS, hamburg. Ulf Nagel had to save the recordings which were real shitty to be honest. Part one was released as cd-digipack and picture-lp on 21.07.2001. Frank of deliria gave up buisness in 2001 and the cd "Mortal Machines" were handed over to MASSACRE RECORDS and the tribute to G.G. Allin Compilation will not be released through DELIRIA NOISE OUTFITTERS, but Frank Droll of DEVIL'S SHITBURNER RECORDS will definitely release it in late summer / autumn 2002.

Noise Forest broke up with guitarist ronnie 2001 and wondered should they stay the 3 of them but decided for second guitarist Ali Orhan. Noise Forest is now in the best condition ever. Big time!
