Nathrath was founded in 2004 by Grim and Morvan.

The first songs both wrote were more Melodic Black Metal.
In 2006 Knarz and Von Folter completed the line-up for a few months.
Also the music changed more into something raw Black Metal.
After Von Folters leaving in the end of 2006 Knarz inherits the place
behind the drums and the new material turned into a depressive mood
with more elements of other metal-styles.
The first demo called "Demotion" was released in autuum 2007 through
the self-founded Label S.G.M. Productions.
In the beginning of 2008 Sargon joined the band and completed the line-
up as vocalist.
