Biography : Menosgada

In the winter of 2003/04, Michael, heavily influenced by Viking/Pagan Metal bands like Ensiferum, Equilibrium and Finntroll, started writing songs that featured both epic Black/Death Metal and Scandinavian folk tunes. But when his main band „Stage Two“ entered studio in early summer of the same year, all his energies flew into that project.
It took more than one year before he was ready to get back to Viking Metal again. Initial plans of a solo project soon faded when he realized that he would never be able to create a sufficient drum sound on his own. Thus, he asked his buddy Ole, a university drum student and member of Stage Two, to take over that part in the recording sessions. Motivated by the enormous gain in quality, they decided to turn over the bass and vocals to other musicians as well. Simon, an old friend, and Sebo, singer of Thrash/Deathers „Insantary“ fit in perfectly.
Almost all of 2006, the band was concerned with the recording of their debut „Mittsommer“ (mid-summer). In addition to the songwriting, Michael took over the role of producer and engineer of the record. Nevertheless, MENOSGADA have come to be a real band that is more than just the sum of all of its parts.
The band wants to state that their interest in Germanic folklore, culture and mythology stems entirely from their fascination with northern music and history. We oppose any kinds of racism and nazism.
