MATRICIDE 1994 - 2004
This Band is currently led by one person (Durak of ex-labyrinth) and is experimental Dark Metal, with mixtures of death, doom, and blackmetal.
Matricide has put out a few official releases in perth.

THE HISTORY OF MATRICIDE
Matricide is a Death metal band from Perth Western Australia. Starting in 1994 jamming in a bedroom, as most band start. Matricide means to kill your mother or one who does this. We thought that this was the ultimate band name because of the stereotype we had to live with (being into metal and wearing black clothes). People think you are a devil worshipper and a crazy psycho who kills people and rapes dogs and shit. This is the reason why we use the name matricide as its funny to us after hearing all the shit from so called normal people in this world. Society has shut us out and this is our answer to the world. Matricide started with Durak (guitars) and Machine (vocals). We Recorded a demotape "Devilmusic B.C." and in 96 we got drummer- Paul S. and Bass- Roy M. With this lineup we recorded the demo "EYE FOR AN EYE" which was entered into JJJ radio unearthed competition, but never won!! After they left there was Drummer Frank 'fruity' and Eugine (bass), We used to rehearse at studio music center and sound works recording a heap of 4 track stuff. Before November 97 we broke up again. This led to Labyrinth.(a black metal band that lasted about 1 year.) during this time of breakup we played in a few other bands.
Matricide reformed with Durak and Machine in march 1999, and we recorded the demo "Merchants of death" this was recorded on a computer by royden mortimer (ex matricide bass player from 97). After this we started writting material which eventually become the album "Buried in the Woods".
We decided that a computer couldnt handle the drums at the time and decided to see what ex drummer casket (demogorgon/labyrinth drummer)was doing, after we hadnt seen him for about 1 year. He agreed to join the band and help with the work that we were doing. We learned alot from this experience, the first recording with him was forgotten about, we basically didnt finish the recording and it was sitting in bergerk studios getting dusty. The next recording also featured casket and after everyone left matricide Durak decided to finish the work himself. This latter recording become "Buried in the Woods". The Album was originally going to be called "The afterlife".
During the recording process machine finally quit matricide with out contributing his work to the album. He sung on every matricide song untill this cd.
The previous unreleased recording was on a old tape i had and was listening to it one night and thought i should also finish this work as well,and go a new guitarist Hawkinz to help finish this work (march 2003). He was a good lead guitarist, and joined matricide on guitars untill his departure in november 2003. We jammed with drummer Trevor and he joined matricide from August to november 2003. (They later Formed Grotesque).
2003 where the bodies are EP, was recorded by Durak as a solo CD, followed by a DVD "Ghosts of wintermoon" and another CD "The END OF ME".
This was the end of matricide as a band, in 2003 Durak had started another project, for a movie called MIKKIKO. This turned around into a solo band called Durak.
