Biography : MXD

At the crossroads between the dance know-how of the Chemical Brothers, the brutal power of Rammstein and the experimental synthetics of the Young Gods, MXD from Switzerland are back at last with their latest thermonuclear creation, exploding fresh out of the lab. 'Frustration Is Fuel' is the natural descendant of their three previous manifestos, after 'Electrolab Inc.', 'Doping The Beat' and the magnificent 'Musicogenic' released end 2002. Since then MXD have toured extensively, totally winning over their audiences (including the Eurockéennes festival of Belfort in 2003). The completion of their latest work of art was recorded and mixed in Geneva in the studio belonging to new guitarist Drop and mastered in New York by Howie Weinberg better known for his work with artists such as Rammstein, The Beastie Boys, Gorillaz as well as Nirvana. Aimed at experts and of easy access to the general public, the blend of untamable electronics and high-powered rock'n'roll is the basis of the band's wild alchemy. Massive beats and acid ambiences sent by alex and solex are the foundtaions of mxd's sonic wall. Slap on a thick layer of guitars oscillating between post-metal untamed brutality and the industrial power of a runaway train, added to Duja's deep vocals, dark and hypnotic, chanting cynical, disillusional and post-apocalyptic sounds leading to a sonic Armageddon. Painful metal or pounding electro, the four partners weave influences and talent to achieve a homogeneous composite, of dark and indestructible appearance. At a meeting point between different styles and the faithful amplified whisper of a pregnant apocalypse, 'Frustration Is Fuel' is the perfect soundtrack without any ambiguity for a black movie on a world in full decomposition. MXD is certainly one of the most innovative groups out there who are ready to take on the rest of the world.
