Kragens was founded at the end of the year 2000 in NICE France by Cedric
(ex STRUTTERS, THORIUM) and Ludwig, both guitarists, joined later by vocalist Renaud ESPECHE (ex DEMON EYES, LYNX). They quickly found their creative process as they composed their first metal tracks together : more power, more melody, classical influences. This style was enforced by the Denis arrival, bassplayer (LYNX) and Oliver the powerful drummer (ex ACE, DIRTY SIDE, TRIBAL, SLAM). Once this line up completed, many concerts performed in Nice were sold out and crowded by headbangers who appreciated the Kragens titles but also the heavy metal classics well played by the band, as the Stratovarius "Black Diamond", the Priest "Victim of Changes". This success gave Kragens the opportunity to play a major role on the "Riviera Very Small Metal World". They won a competition between 18 bands. All that drove Kragens to record their first album, "Dying In a Desert", with the full collaboration of the famous french keyboardist Franck Viencharutti. Signed by the excellent french metal label Thundering Records. Cover by the great Jean-Pascal FOURNIER (Immortal, Edguy...) mixed by Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast), this original and powerful album is building its fate, the excellent reviews are coming back. In Germany Kragens got 8/10 on Rock Hard, (soundcheck classified 36/43), 8 points on Legacy (soundcheck classified 50/72), and 5/7 on Metal Hammer, + Heavy Oder Was 8/10 (soundcheck classified 30/77), Rock It 7.5/10 (soundcheck classified 32/40). In France, Kragens got one track on the Rock Hard Sampler, and they gave 7.5 points to the album. Metallian gave 4.5/6 too. Classed as "Revelation 2004" and "Best Concert" in Rock Hard France, they recorded their second album "Seeds of Pain", soon mixed by the great Tue Madsen, www.antfarm.dk, who gives the huge sound of the bands Aborted, The Haunted, Ektomorf or Mnemic...
Chris Boltendahl has signed the band on Locomotive Music (Mago De Oz, Tierra Santa, Astral Doors...) for a worlwide release excluding France. The album will be out the 29 of August. In France "Seeds of Pain" will be out as usual thru Thundering Records a few weeks later.
