The band was formed in 2006 by Dou KALENDER and Kenan TURANDAR as GÜRZ.

Their first live appearance was at UniRock Open Air Festival in Istanbul, TURKEY in 2011.

First release which is titled “Sons of Earth and Sky” was released in March, 2012. The EP received many positive comments worldwide.

In 2012 and 2013, they have made international live appearances in Ukraine, Hungary and Georgia.

In the next few years, the sound of the band evolved into having more middle eastern/Anatolian influences and got more aggressive as well.

With the new style, they changed the band name to KHEPRA. They have recorded their first full length album "Cosmology Divine" in 2015. They are aiming for a release in the first half of 2016.
