Kardinal X was formed in July 2018 by Shaun Dunne, Ade Kiely and then drummer Olivier Jonot with
Jimi James coming in on vocals in the August. After a lot of song writing, rehearsals and a few initial
performances throughout 2019 things were moving forward but unfortunately in early 2020 the
Covid 19 situation required Oli to have to remain in his native France and as a result he needed to
stand down. He was replaced in the hot seat by John Kane in December 2020 and in short order the
set and album preparation was underway. Recording of the debut album “The Revolution” took
place in February and March at Sanctuary Studios in Watford produced by Raven Van Rijn (Flavour
Nurse) and the album was finally released on 2 nd July 2020. Work continued throughout the
pandemic both remotely and in person when possible and in spite of the adverse conditions,
milestones were still achieved including gigs, live streams and development. Sadly due to ill health
John Kane had to stand down in December 2021 and has been replaced by Fredrik Illes in the
hotseat. Plans for 2022 are well underway with a co headlined UK tour with Voltstorm and
development of new material with a single release planned for later in the year.
