Biography : Kalot Enbolot

Kalot Enbolot is a black metal band from Toruń, Poland. It was born to promote Black Metal in its simple and pure form, if you will.

The band was formed in the early 2004, by T (guitar) and Svart (drums). After a few months, Mike (voc) joined the band. Soon after, they started rehearsing their first tracks, writing lyrics and creating a concept for the debut album. The band released its first song in February 2006. It was a cover version of the notorious "Satanachist", by Venom (it has never been published anywhere). The concept behind the debut album came to life in 2005, transforming into five complex and long compositions.

The title for the debut album was "MCCCXLVII", which translated as ”1347”, written with Roman numbers. It was a concept album, dedicated to one of the most horrible European plagues – the medieval Black Death. The album was recorded in the early summer of 2006 in Nowia Studio and contains six songs, including one instrumental track and one cover song (we seem to like covers). It was a cover of Immortal’s "At the Heart of Winter". In the process, the band recorded another cover song, Burzum's "Black Spell of Destruction", which has never been released. "MCCCXLVII" was released by Eastside Records, in May 2007.

The sophomore album, "Regnum Dei", was recorded in February/March 2008, at the DBX Studio in Warsaw, with Jacek Melnicki. The mix was ready in January 2009. The album is another concept story, this time about the crusades. It contains seven long, complex and sophisticated songs: "Infidelis", "The Grand Adversary", "Advocati Sancti Sepulrchi", "Jerusalem the Whore", "The Children of Judas", "The Mother of Demons" and a cover of The Cure’s "Figurehead" (from the "Pornography" album). The album was released at the end of December 2010, by Eastside Records, nearly three years after its recording.

As of now, the band has just started rehearsing for its third album. All we can say at this time is that this shall be yet another concept album, devoted to much more closer events, which took place in Russia, in the 20th century. The album will be sung entirely in Polish, while the music is a return to the cold and ominous Black Metal.
