Insense are of the new breed of extreme metal statesmen. Hailing from Oslo, Norway, Insense are a potent extremity of manic-noise that fuses the elements of intricate musical progressions with an all out heavy metal attack. Having had enough of the gothic-glam metal that has littered their homeland, Insense set out and set forth a brand of metal music that is profound and infectious. The bands spark was ignited in 1999 when Hjelm simply wrote a song not fitting of his then full time project the Syndicate and approached both Iversen and Ruud about a side project. Within months and with the addition of Rygge on second guitar, the guys found themselves devoting their full attention to Insense and cast their other bands to the side. Insense" focus was to simply bring back the intensity and brutality metal music had lost in the recent years to the so-called extreme Dungeon and Dragons acts currently flooding record store shelves. The band and their music is complex, but understandable to the metal mind. Insense are new. They haven"t much of a history to write about... yet. However, Insense are like a caged animal that's been prodded and poked beyond condonation. They break free of their confines and proceed to rip your flesh apart and gorge themselves on it. All the while, you remain wide-eyed throughout their vicious claim. That's just putting Insense and their self-titled debut lightly.
