Biography : In Tenebra

The project 'In Tenebra' kicks off in 2006 from an idea of the drummer Giulio Burini and the guitarist Christian Bastianoni. At first the idea was to follow the wave of the new gothic bands appeared in the international context, like Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and Nightwish. After several line-up changes, the band comes to a formation including, in addition to the two members mentioned above, Pietro Montanari on bass and the singer Chiara Giovagnini. With the first live experiences, In Tenebra realize that something is missing: in the same year the keyboards player Francesca Trampolini joins up the band, giving it a much more symphonic sound and allowing it to define its own personal style and detach from the "commercial" models that had been followed. The repertory is expanded considerably with covers and original songs, but the works for the release of the first demo proceed slowly.
In 2008, after the break-up with Chiara, the new and current frontgirl Veronica 'Valchirea' Bordacchini gives the band the boost to reach what, until that moment, had only been sketched.
The group find its own personal sound identity and, after the replacing of Pietro by Stefano Caponi, start the recordings of "Introspection", demo that comes to life in November 2009, in conjunction with more important live gigs and more concrete targets.
After the release of "Introspection", In Tenebra attempt an experiment: Simone Silvestri joins up the band as a second keyboards player for a short period of time. His presence, even if temporarily, offered suggestions to strengthen the orchestral parts of the songs, allowing to mantain a significant sound impact concurrently with "catchy" riffs. At the same time, the entering of Fiorenzo Pelucca on bass gives stability for the final line-up. In Tenebra are nothing but a mix of heterogeneous feelings forming particular harmonies without losing immediacy of listening; a melodic line ranging from symphonic/gothic metal par excellence, with its typical atmospheres, to harder rock-style riffs, accompanied by substantial choral parts, broken by brief interludes of growling, alternating with the more melodic and leading vocal lines.
In Tenebra are actually focusing on the composition of their first full-lenght and carrying on their live activity.
