Biography : Heavy Demons

Heavy Demons come to life in 2001 in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland. The first demo released in 2002, Light of Darkness, is characterized by a pretty primordial sound and by music inspired by the horror metal bands of the early 80s, such as Death SS. During the following two years the band evolves its style, which is concretized in 2004 with the recording of the first EP “Empty Inside”, musically much closer to death / thrash metal. During the next period the band dedicates itself to live activity in Switzerland and abroad. Having matured a pretty good experience on the road, Heavy Demons releases its debut full-length, Tenebra, in 2009. The ten tracks reflect the whole artistic path of the band, including two rearranged songs taken from the first demo. Again, a period characterized by a long series of live shows follows. The band grows musically and matures in terms of on-stage presence. In 2014 Heavy Demons enter the studio to record the album “TwicE”. The whole work ,is taken care of with a great attention to details, not least the graphics realized by Seth Siro Anton (Septicflesh). The album consists of eleven tracks, including a cover of the Swiss band Killer. TwicE features both very tight death / thrash metal songs and mid-tempos with almost romantic shades. The album is released in January 2015 and for the subsequent three years Heavy Demons hit the road once again to promote the album with several concerts in Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, and Czech Republic. Despite working on new material is slowed down by the pandemic, towards the end of spring 2021 Heavy Demons release a new song - to be included in 2022’s new album – as a video clip entirely shot by the singer Jack Demon. On the 21st of October 2021 the Demons present a box set to celebrate their 20 years of activity on the music scene. The coffin-shaped box contains a personal thought written by the founder Jack Demon, a t-shirt, a necklace and a best-of CD with a selection of the band’s most relevant songs including a new version of "Bleeding", re-arranged and re-recorded in 2021, exactly 20 years after the original composition.
