The Hammurabi was founded by Daniel Lucas (bass n..vocals) and Críslei Rodrigo (drums) in june of 2006. The band emerged from the dissolution of the band Gestalt, also founded by both. His first lineup had also Wagner Oliveira, who also was part of the former band.

In this same year, Hammurabi released a demo with two tracks. Submersos, so called was very well accepted by the specialized national media enabling shows in other states almost immediately. Wagner Oliveira (guitar) left the band in August 2007, shortly after touching the side of Krisiun in Belo Horizonte.

In 2008, yet independently, her first professional release came about. Shelter of Blames leveraged 7 shows in 3 weeks in the state of Sao Paulo, including capital, and also the opening act of the Germans in the passage of Sodom by Belo Horizonte, where officially, we had the release of this MCD. This album has enabled a greater diversity of cities for which the band play as a quartet and was already consolidated with the participation of guitarist Danilo Henrique and Josias Martins.

In mid-2009, Josias Martins left the band for the return of Wagner Oliveira, which was officially effected in December of that year after making the last two shows the band's agenda in Lafaiete Counselor, in the state of Minas Gerais and in the state capital Rio de Janeiro.

Currently the band works on their first album, "The Extinction Root".
