Falls of Mimir is a metalband from Trollhättan, Sweden. We started out as cover band playing covers of Metallica, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin & Iron Maiden.
By the summer of 2010 we started to write our own music and named our band Falls of Mimir. The name was inspired by the waterfalls of Trollhättan and north mythology. We played our live-debut in Musikslaget 2010 M15 Trollhättan.

In 2011 we participated in Livekarusellen and recorded our first demo including songs: "Shades of Grey", "Mind of a Criminal" & "Heaven Within". Two "Thrashy" songs and a ballad. By the fall we started to get more gigs around town and started to evolve our sound. It became less Thrashy and more heavy & progressive.

By the start of 2012 we recorded "Break Me Down" and released it as a single demo track. A vocal based,rocky song with a catchy riffs. During the year we got some gigs in cites further away, such as : Borås, Åmål, Lyskeskil, Gothenburg.
We recorded a second single: Echoes from a dream, a long, sort of progressive song. Though we recorded it during bad circumstances which affected the recording in a negative ways. We decided to release it anyway.
In the summer we played at the local metalfestival Knorrfest with headliners: Raubiter & Skitarg and in the fall we went to the finals of Musikslaget!

This year we've been writing songs for our hopefully upcoming EP.
We also played our first bargig at Backstage Rockbar-Trollhättan and have now played over 40 gigs in total.
We are looking forward to see what the rest of 2013 brings us!
