The German band Dehydrated was founded in the year of 2000 by Florian Sonnleitner (drums), Patrick de Reuver (guitar), Stephan Hannig (vocals) and Konrad Merckenschlager (bass).
Influenced by bands like Extreme Noise Terror, Napalm Death or Hate Eternal there was no question which music would be performed. After only three months the Demo "Dehydrated", a mixture of extreme Death Metal, Thrash Metal and Grindcore, was self recorded and self released. A lot of live shows followed and stages were shared with Mastic Scum, Squash Bowels, Fleshless, Profanity and many others.

As time goes by the songs got better, faster and more technical. In autumn 2003 Konrad Merckenschlager left the band because of a long trip abroad. With Georg Maier (bass) of Antropophagia a very good replacement was found pretty fast. Johannes Schmidl, ex-Antropophagia, also stepped into the band as a second guitar player.

In the end of 2004 singer Stephan Hannig left the Band, his part was taken over by Johannes Schmidl.

At the same time the production for "The Dismal Millenium“ started and was brought to an end in April 2005. Dehydrated also performed at several festivals in Germany together with Rotten Sound, God Dethroned, Dismember, Holy Moses and Dead Infection among others.
