Biography : Curriculum Mortis (SWE)

Curriculum Mortis is a project formed by Fredrik Andersson (Amon Amarth, A Canorous Quintet, Guidance of Sin) which started to take form in 2001. It all began when F. Andersson and Leo Pignon (A Canorous Quintet, Niden div. 187) started to jam together, influenced by bands like Nile and Vader but with ideas from the time of A Canorous Quintet, their own style of music started to take form.

Unfortunately, time became short for different reasons, even though material was produced, nothing much came out of it. However, passion was there and remained, and almost year later four songs were finished and ready to be recorded. Studio-time was planned to August 2002 in Cold Gin studio with the help of Linus Nirbrant (A Canorous Quintet, Guidance of Sin, The Dead).

During two days all drums and guitars were recorded, including an old, never before released A Canorous Quintet-song. After another couple of weeks bass and the last guitars were also put on tape, and with Mattias Leinikka (Guidance of Sin) adding his vocals to the recording, the demo to be named Into Death was finished.

It took until December before the demo was mixed and because of back to back touring with Amon Amarth the demo couldn"t be pressed earlier than June 2003.

The songs on Into Death are the result of long hard work and were never allowed to be compromised with. The music of Curriculum Mortis will surprise any listener with its unique riffs, the mix of brutality and harmonies and excellent musicianship.
