Convoy is a Chicago based rock band that plays straight-up rock music that they like to described as “swamp rock”. The band was formed in the fall of 2009. Convoy plays primarily original songs but also is well versed with rock covers. Convoy plays shows across the Chicago area but will soon be branching out to regional shows. Many of these shows are at venues that focus primarily on rock music. In July of 2010, Convoy released their first album, "River of Sorrow". The band is comprised of versatile seasoned musicians. Brian Corbin is the singer, rhythm guitarist, and primary song writer of Convoy’s original music. Brian grew up in Kentucky and then moved to Chicago when he was a teen. His passion for southern rock is evident when he sings Convoy’s originals. He’s vocals are captivating. Brian has been in successful bands such as Lynt, Chrome 7, and Down To Rest. John Daniel is the lead guitarist and keyboardist. John is a native of the Chicago northside area. John is a well rounded musician who can play guitar, bass, keys, and also sings. John is a consummate entertainer and his knowledge of a wide variety of music makes him a virtual human jukebox. John has been in recognized bands such as 80s Proof, The Millions and Chrome 7. Mike Getz is the drummer. Mike is also from the Chicago southside area. Mike began playing drums at a young age and has been playing for over 20 years. Mike is an energetic player and thrives on motivating the crowd. Mike has been in reputable bands such as Undertoad, Pocket Xplosion, and Chrome 7. Dan Thompson is the bassist. Dan is also from the Chicago southside area. Dan has been playing professional for over 25 years. Dan is a versatile bass player that can run the gamut from Blues to Metal, and industrial music. Dan holds down the bottom end of the group. Dan has played in traveling bands such as Circle of Fate and Outbound Eden.
