Biography : Chaos Dynasty

Formed after being inspired by the late Dave Williams & Drowning Pool back in late 2002, Chaos Dynasty consisted of Iain (guitar), his son John (bass) and their friend Graham (vocals). The band also acquired a second guitarist by the name of Ian. It wasn't long before the guys recruited Michael on drums after having known him for a while at their local music store.

For unknown reasons, Ian and Chaos Dynasty went their seperate ways and the band continued to write their first songs as 2003 began to roll by.

The band were working towards the 2004 Haverhill Rock Competition when disaster struck just as the guys were about to submit their entry: Michael had to temporarily retire from drums due to medical reasons and at the same time he decided to leave the guys as he didn't want to hold them back, Michael and Chaos Dynasty remain good friends to this day.

So, without a drummer the band seemed finished. As 2004 began John offered to try to learn to drum in order to save the band, no-one really knew how long it might take or even if he had the skill required. He bought a small kit and set about teaching himself while the band continued to try to write more material.

In March 2004, the band recorded the 4-track EP "Bring Them All..." in Iain and John's home studio with John playing bass guitar on the recording as well as drums. The quality of the songs wasn't great but it represented a marker of where the band stood and gave them hope that John might be ready sooner than everyone had thought.

After trialling a few bassists, the guys hit on Dave. Dave was / is a fantastic lead guitarist in his own right and found he could apply the same skills to bass...and so the line up was set for the first Chaos Dynasty gig.

The band first played at a Christmas Party where Graham happened to know the main act and this gave them all the courage to carry on and book more gigs.

As October 2005 began, musical differences led to strains between Graham and the rest of the band.

Now that he and the band had parted ways, the band looked forward to going even further with new frontman Jeff and their unique blend of dark metal riffs, death / power metal drumming, powerful vocals and wild stage shows. After a full year of work alongside Jeff and recording two EPs, the band and their vocalist went in their seperate directions once again and the search was on for yet another singer.

A chance meeting at a gig in late 2006 had introduced the band to their new vocalist long before they knew they'd recruit him. Hopefully with their all new frontman Alfie at the helm Chaos Dynasty will be able to carry on bringing melodic dark metal to the masses on a much grander scale.
