Algiers is the home town of the first and the only Algerian grindcore's band ever. Carnavage sees the light early December, 2004, by the mix of two active death metal bands, Litham and Homicidal.
The idea came from Grindazer (Litham) who was searching for other members having the grind's feelings and the core's attitude for a long time, but no one gets really interested. Once he contacted Skinned Alive (Homicidal), who is always ready for some more espicially when the things become crazy and uncontrolled, the two guys were immediately agreed to work together (October, 2004). Shortly after that Utila (Nihil, Homicidal) joins the duo. For some the grindcore's style is such a sensless music, played and heard of course by some stupid people, but in real 'grindcore is and will remain a state of mind'.
During a month the trio concentrates on composing songs and recording something in some pure grindecore's mind. Thus they finished to record a demo album entitled "Carnival Of Carnage" on the 23rd of January 2005, one of the 9 tracks is an Impetigo (the crazy Americans and the masters of Goregrind) cover called "Boneyard". In that cover the band was showing their capability to make up this with a very interesting personal touch especially on the vocals abilities, with the mix of the Skinned Alive's gutted growling voices and The Grindazer's cutting pig voices.
After some promo seriously driven the debut demo album was well entertained and has some killing reviews till now, in some respectable underground zines such as : Possessed, Brutalsim, Laermbelaestigung and Voices From The Darkside... one thing is that killing process will continue for sure. But the most important thing is that "Carnival Of Carnage" will be released very soon by Atolinga Records (Mexico) and by Sukk Productions (Turkey), and of course the band will participate on the compilation "A Tribute To Boneyard" (the CD will be released by Ganay Design Records, Czech Republic).
May, 2005, the main point in the near future of the band with the arrival of Ghostok on the drums (who played in the past few years in several local metal bands as a guitarist), The line-up complete !!! Now the band can concentrate on preparing some local gig dates.
27th of June, 2005, the Carnavage's first gig ever at Ibn-Zeydoun (Algiers) ahead of 300 metalheads (maybe the future grindcore maniacs). One week later (5th of July), the band drove about one hour and a half from home to play in the countryside (Tizi ouzou, 100 km North-east from Algiers), this second performing was killing a bit. Some metalheads came from Algiers to assist to this gig, all in all were about 100, a pure underground metal scene.
