Biography : Calus

Calus was formed in the spring of 2002 in Anderson, SC by five individuals heavily influenced by everything from classic metal giants such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram, and early Metallica to current groups like Clutch and Down. The band's highly touted full-length CD entitled Damn the Storm was released on 10/22/04, and features the thunderous rhythm section of drummer Harold Smith and bassist Chris Driggers, the dual assault of lead guitarist Rodney Ervin and rhythm guitarist Dustin Holliday, and the abrasive roar of ex-vocalist Alan Mills. Having become a consumate heavyweight in the local Southeastern music scene, Calus is a live band that loves the studio, but lives for the stage. In December 2005 Calus added singer, Jason Hohenstein, to the mix. Then released their second CD entitled Spiritual Warfare in July 2006. In September 2007, singer, Jason Hohenstein and Calus parted ways. In October 2007, the band decided to call it quits and are pursuing other musical ventures.
