Founded by Paul Swarbrick in 2010 and inspired by progressive, intense and heavy ass riffage (influenced by riff pioneers Keelhaul, Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch, Burnt By The Sun), they self-released and self-recorded the 'Angular Beef Lesson' EP at the end of 2010. Rocksound magazine described it as "A ferocious sea of handsomely filthy riffs and other musical unpleasantry."

Completed by Alex Hurst, Ste Arands, Liam PG, they gigged extensively throughout 2011 to critical acclaim. Manchester Rocks live review said "Wigan quartet Boss Keloid get your heart racing with their groove laden, riff pumping, beat driven metal, not many bands like this on the UK scene.....kicking you in right in the teeth!" Rocksound said "energetic live performances spread Boss Keloid's name like wildfire across the north west of England where audiences are chewed up and spat back out unmercifully by this Wigan quartet."

Whilst continuing to play live, Boss Keloid spent the following 2 years writing new material at Urban Sound Studios in Wigan. The new material took a great step forward in terms of complexity, groove and intensity.

Boss Keloid entered Alien Sound Recording Studios in Feb 2013 to record 'The Calming Influence of Teeth' with producer Mark Wainwright.
