Biography : Bergthron

Bergthron is a German Pagan/Black Metal band from Plauen (Saxony), which was founded in 1994.
After releasing their first demo "Durch Den Nebel Der Finsternis", which contained only one 18-minute song of the same name, a recording contract with the German label Perverted Taste was signed in 1995.

From the foundation day on the band held back information about their members. "Verborgen In Den Tiefen Der Wälder" was the last album that included information about the cast, whereas other releases give no indication of the musicians involved. Only on "Faust Für Faust" Hendrik Eibisch and Sven Leonhardt are listed as keyboarders, who were probably session musicians and no constant members of Bergthron.
The few interviews the band gives are normally held by a person named "Wolfgrim".

In 2002 the songs of "Jagdheim" (2001) plus the additional track "Wotanskult" were re-released on the LP "Wotanskult". With these recordings the vocal style of Bergthron changed. While harsh Black-Metal-screams dominated the first releases, priority was now given to clear singing instead. This trend should continue on "Faust Für Faust". The latter was released in 2004 on CD and on a special double-LP, limited to 500 copies. The LP contained a longer bonus-version of "Tanz der Elemente".

The latest recording is the album "Leben und Lebenswille", which was released in February 2007. Despite its playing time of about 74 minutes "Leben und Lebenswille" is spread over three CDs. To promote this album, a special five-track-EP ("Auszüge aus Leben und Lebenswille") was released in 2006, including a different version of the song "Geistesreise".
