Behead The Lamb formed in early 2008 after the demise of the member's previous band NERVE GAS TRAGEDY. Drummer Jesse Sutherland and guitarist Jose Segarra had spent time together in both NERVE GAS TRAGEDY, who released 2 albums with Spook City Records and metalcore veterans ALL OUT WAR, who released 4 full length CDs, 3 with Victory Records. Their goal was to play music influenced by their metal roots particulary early 90's death metal like Carcass, Morbid Angel and Deicide. They recruited Jesse's brother Josh to fill the open bass slot. Lionel Johnson stepped in to fill the vocalist role. The band recorded their debut EP over Easter weekend 2008 at Sweetspot Studio in Orange County, NY. The final product is a throwback to metal before the face paint, before the keyboards. Real no frills death metal. Blast beats, double bass and intense breakdowns are all part of BEHEAD THE LAMB's formula. Since recording their EP, the band has added another former ALL OUT WAR/NERVE GAS TRAGEDY member, Taras Apuzzo, on 2nd guitar...increasing the heaviness tenfold. The band made their live debut in May of 2008 and proved that they are the real deal. This is real death metal, no marketing gimmicks, no fancy press photos. Metal. Pure and Simple.
