Biography : Battue

It's 2004. To get some other input than school, Lutz Neemann (guitar) and Carsten Schorn (bass) meet each other to make music and emulate their idols. In August they meet Gerrit Ihnen (vocals). It easy for them to find a genre that fits: Thrash/Death Metal. In December the „family" is growing with a suitable guitar player Peter Mescher.

In the beginning of 2005 they find a proper name for the band, which really expresses their musical arrangements: BATTUE is born! The search for a drummer ends by an idea of Lutz. He takes a seat on the stool and bangs on pots and pans. Sounds weird and it really is! Michael Lux is entering the free job at the guitar.

Until the first demo-tape in August 2006 Battue writes twelve songs, but just five will be published in September. A lot of good feedback from the local underground scene give them enough incitement to work on new songs.

The request for Battue concerts increases and finally they have their first gig: At the 12th of January 2007 they play in the Jugendzentrum Norden whereon the next concert follows. Together with two famous local underground- bands (Meatknife and Weak Aside) they present their second demo-tape, which was recorded at the "Audiocheck Studio" in Emden just like the first one. Beside of writing new songs for the upcoming album the played a lot of regional concerts along the year, e.g. with Nailed To Obscurity, Sudden Death, In Disgrace, Burial Vault and 24 Give.

2008 begins with a concert in Kiel. In February/March they enter the „Studio Kracht" in Aurich to record their first full length album „New World Disorder". After that the next highlight follows: they open up the first Wacken-Rocks-Seaside in Aurich on 05th of July 2008. Together with stars like Motörhead, Machine Head, Saxon, Torfrock, Drone and other bands, they make this evening memorable. On 23rd of August the debut-album is released with a concert at Schlachthof Aurich. A short time after that Battue is performing at the first Northern Flame Open Air in Emden/Suurhusen.

In January 2009 they decide to take leave of Peter and Lutz gets back to guitar playing. While the next concerts Jann Hillrichs (Nailed to Obscurity) plays drums, so they will not stop promoting there album live.

By now Jann is a constant member of Battue, the first new songs are written and played live regularly. Beside of the recording session for their new EP „Deathinfection" at Jörk Uken's Soundlodge Studio, they play a lot of in- and outdoor concerts, e.g. Metalfest Germany in Dessau or Waldbrand Open Air in Helmstedt. On 24th of July 2010 the EP is released on the public.
