Biography : Ardent Flames

Bio
Ardent Flames began in late 2003 with Matt Alfus, Shaun Andruchuk, and Casey McCarthy after the breakup of their former band. They soon asked Kyle Church, a long-time friend, to join the group. After a period of writing and searching they asked another long-time friend, Chris Beatty, to climb on as vocalist. With a full line-up the band began playing shows and making a name for themselves in McHenry County. Very shortly after they recorded their first demo The Suicide of Art. The demo contained a gigantic intro and 3 other blistering and dynamic tracks which the band released on September 8th 2004. Again the band played more and more shows at venues including but not limited to The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Clearwater Theater in West Dundee, Illinois.

Not all good things go exactly as planned however, in July 2005 after about a year with the band, vocalist Chris Beatty decided to part ways with the group. After another brief period of writing and searching Ardent Flames found Ian Bailey. They worked with him for a week and unveiled their new singer as well as 2 songs which he had written the lyrics for. Since then AF has opened for Hatebreed, Trivium, Children of Bodom, and Agnostic Front. This turning point in Ardent Flames' history signifies a more brutal, faster, and heavier band unafraid to drift away from the hardcore saturated local scene and stick to what they know. Brutal heavy metal.

The future looks bright for the 5-piece as they continue to write new material, a new demo is on the horizon as well as anything the band can dream of, and with many more years of trials and tribulations ahead of them Ardent Flames is charging forward, heads high and a middle-finger to the world
