Archaic Cessation formed out of Phoenix Arizona in December of 2005. Determined to start a metal band, founding guitarist Jerry Bryant and bassist Stephen Carlson started searching for members and came across drummer James Shaeffer. After a long frustrating search for a vocalist, the band turned to Jerry's brother David. David entered the band not long before the band decided to record their first EP.

Shortly after playing their first show in December 2006, the band thought it was time to find a second guitarist. Jerry found Ryan Wallis to fill the position, a friend he knew from high school. Looking for leadership, Jerry and David hired older brother Bobby Bryant (bassist from Wynterborne) to be the bands full time manager. After that, the band played a couple of shows and then in February of 2007, James Shaeffer and Stephen Carlson would leave the band to pursue their college careers.

With the help of Wynterborne, Archaic Cessation found drummer Maitland Hassard (ex – Sired From Beneath) to fill the drum position. Instead of searching for a bass player, David picked up the bass and began singing and playing bass. Archaic Cessation is determined to make a name for themselves in the metal community and you will be hearing more from them in the future.
