Biography : Apocaliptic

It all began on the 7th of February 1998, when Nobody and Mary started a heavy metal project together with Kirk. They called this project Sorrow. But they realized this style wasn’t what they had wanted and the three changed it to Doom.

As they were dealing with apocalyptic, religious and mystical themes, a month later Kirk called the band “Apocaliptic”. Four songs were created: “Body and Soul”, “Inquisition”, “Forsaken” and “Alone” (one of Kirk’s earlier ballads).

In April, Nobody introduces Marius to the band and he joins them on drums. The group was now complete.

On the 22nd of May, Apocaliptic records their first demo called “Judgement” on audio tape. It included on side A three songs: “Forsaken”, “Judgement” and “Alone” and the instrumental version of the same songs on side B.

On the 16th of June 1998, Apocaliptic appears on stage for the first time in the opening of the “Top T” music festival. They play at a series of festivals throughout the country.

Due to misunderstandings, Mary leaves the band in 1999. Nobody then plays rhythm guitar and Lema is brought in as lead guitarist. The new band members witness the creation of two more songs, but Lema soon joins another band in Bucharest (Nobody also moves to Bucharest to start a new career as a journalist).

In the summer of 2001, Kirk and Lema start recording an older song, composed by Nobody and Kirk, so that at the end of the summer a single called “Living in the World” sees the light of day but is never completed.

There were many changes in the band line-up over the years and Kirk is the only one that remains loyal to the project. He continues to work on a new album by writing songs and looking for the right people to work with for this project.

In 2009, the first results of a long search bring B.C. Richici in the band at the end of spring. A few months later, Copilu joins in on bass guitar and Endre plays the drums. As Kirk’s new songs require a change in style, there is a need for a third guitar player and so Radu is soon accepted...

But in January 2010, Endre and Radu leave the band in search of a less aggressive style. Kirk and B.C. Richici continue to work together on the songs written for the “new” Apocaliptic : “WildChild”, “The Mirror” (“Sodom and Gomorrah” with rhythm guitar elements added by B.C. Richici) and “Fire and Ice”. In February Kirk writes a new song called “War”.

In March, a new bass guitarist joins the band. Lonewolf had previously played in Metalslave, but he found the “Apocaliptic” style was more to his taste and decided to continue with this band. Two weeks later, a third guitarist, Alex, is accepted. Wolfdance, who used to play drums in Metalslave, is brought in the band a month later.

Rehearsals start with the five playing the newest songs written by Kirk... but some months later, Alex decides to leave the band because he feels the melodic death metal style is not for him. B.C. Richici starts a project of his own. Due to personal and creative differences, Kirk and B.C.Richici agree to take on separate ways. Dracica, lead guitar, and Cyp, rhythm guitar, are accepted in the band a few months later.

The boys are currently working on an EP called “The Prophecy” which will be released in the spring of 2011.
