Biography : Ancient Oath

Ancient Oath was formed in the winter of '95 after the break up of two bands. After being disgusted by the local scene at the time, the band wanted to do something different, something that would make some heads bang. During that summer they recorded their first demo called Curse with Andreas Crysohoou on guitars and vocals, Spiros Vakolides on drums and Elias Kontogiannis on bass and started playing at gigs and getting nice reviews from official magazines and underground 'zines from around the world. In 1996, with the help of two new members, Michael Kokkoros on vocals and Jim Crysohoou on guitars the band recorded their 2nd demo called Darkness In My Dreams which got very good reviews and worldwide airplay.

One thing that you shouldn't miss out from the band is their live performances, they really know how to spread chaos in the room in just a few seconds. A new promo was recorded in '97 called New Dawn which opened some new doors to their musical sound. They started using keyboards which created a more atmospheric vibe into their sound. In 1998 Shadowfeast was recorded and the band played allot of shows with bands from Europe and local too. At the end of '98 and beginning of '99, the band recorded their 10 minute masterpiece called Deadly Words Of Innocence with Chris Zois on bass as a session musician filling out for Elias until he returns from the U.S. pursuing his future career. Shortly after "Deadly Words Of Innocence" was released a new talented face joined the band as a singer named Michael Potsikas which not only helped the band with his singing capabilities but with his musical talents too. Which brings us to present time and the band has rehearsed allot of new songs and hopefully we will hear something soon.
