Biography : Amortez

The beginning of the band dates back to October 2003. At that time, the founding members, Richie and Lord Izual, began to create the first music. To describe the atmosphere and feel of the songs a distinctive name was needed. The idea was formed when the two major elements, Love and Death, were combined. The cross breed of the words Amor (love) and Muerte (death) created the final name for the band - Amortez.

One of the first stepping-stones for the band was the arrival of second guitarist Bigger in February 2004. The band started to form the backbone of the music in general and began to look for new musicians. Over the course of a few months Amortez practised with new members Evil Head (vocals), Persey (vocals) and Gmork (bass) but none of them had a long lasting in the band. In June 2004, the first website was created and launched.

Another important milestone for the band was the arrival of Lady Lorraine (bass). Concurrently, Lord Izual and Richie took up vocals in October 2004. This new line-up meant that the music could take the final shape and live performances could be arranged. The first official Amortez concert was on the 19th of November 2004 in M-klub, Brno. Near the end of the year, the recording of Accidental Outcomes demo took place in our humble practise room. This demo was released in April 2005. The first half of the year Amortez concentrates on playing as many gigs as possible. On one of these gigs the band gets to meet with producer Jiri "Rolf" Randula (Root) and with combined efforts the band heads for Shaark Studios (in Bzenec) to record the MCD Infernal Approach at the end of July 2005.

After the recording of Infernal Approach, Lady Lorraine leaves the band and is replaced by bassist Behemoth. Further changes take place after Mara (drums) joines the band allowing Lord Izual to fully concentrate on vocals. However, this line-up was not satisfactory due to several personal and band-related problems. After a couple of months, Behemoth and Mara are replaced by Axsir (drums) and Radkoz (bass) to form what finally seems to be a permanent and stable line-up.

With new blood and force in the band, we head out once again for Shaark Studios to record our new EP, bearing the name Waiting! Once again teaming up with our old producer Jiri "Rolf" Randula. The release date is set on the 5th of July when we will play a record release party in Brno. The next couple of days are spent in Slovakia and we hope to head out for more tours and conerts throughout Europe later this year.
