Biography : Adrift (USA)

Adrift began its musical journey in 2002, as former Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen was looking to write a richer, more diverse style of music than the extreme metal he had been crushing skulls with over the prior decade-plus. He found other like-minded musicians, including former and current Resurrection drummer (and Tampa area entertainment attorney) Kevin Astl, and Adrift was born. Quickly cutting a demo in 2003 with much sought after producer Jason Suecof (Trivium, God Forbid), Adrift went on to much notoriety on blogs and forums everywhere when Jack announced his departure from the mighty Corpse. Explaining that Adrift was where his musical heart was, the band began marketing themselves and their signature style of music, playing several high profile shows, including Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, Alabama (with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Switchfoot, Live, Tantric, Breaking Benjamin, Collective Soul and Future Leaders of the World) and 98 Rock's Guavaween (with Saliva, Collective Soul, and Future Leaders of the World). 2005 was a growth year for Adrift, as it ushered in talented new singer Dean Pskowski, formerly of 98 Rock and Miller Lite sponsored Synapse, and rock solid bass player Jen Parker, a veteran of the Tampa area music scene, having spent time with Animosity and Falling Forward. With a four song demo/EP recently recorded and mixed with discriminating uber-producer John Hughes II (George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, Brotherhood of the Grape, Chumley's Toy, Joe, Patti Rothberg), a commitment to making music with an uncompromising vision and sincerity, and an energetic and impressive live set, Adrift is poised to achieve the success their long work and dedication have brought to their proverbial doorstep.
