Biography : Abstract Rapture

Abstract Rapture were founded in May 2001 by Drittt (vocals), Nol (guitars), Steve E. (bass) and Steve R. (srums). During 9 months, Abstract Rapture wrote many songs in order to play concerts in Luxemburg and the nearby surroundings. Their first gig was at Marignan, Athus, Belgium.

With positive reviews, they continued playing concerts with bands from the Luxembourgish scene.

Two years later, they started recording their first demo called "Asphyxiation". Although the sound was not 100% perfect(the CD was recorded in the cellar where they rehearsed, it sold very well and gave them the opportunity to organize more shows.

Towards the end of may 2003, Steve E. and Steve R. decided to leave the country. Then Rol joined the band on bass. Spit arrived at the end of december of the same year. However, his style immediatly fit with the band and two weeks later, the "Raptors" played their first show at the Rox Bar in the grund, Luxembourg. The Bar filled quickly as people really got into the music.

Many concerts followed and slowly Abstract Rapture became well-known in the Luxembourgish metal scene. During 2004, they played a lot of gigs, which only solidified their iron will and determination to play.

In july 2005, they entered the Tidalware Studios in Karlsruhe, Germany, to record their 5 tracks EP "Dead End Entry", which was released at the end of december 2005.

Meanwhile, Yogy, the guitar player of the band scarred, joined Abstract Rapture as full-time lead and rhythm guitarist in order to support Nol and to bring new influences in the band.

In March 2007, Abstract Rapture finished at the 3rd place in the "Wacken Metal Battle" in Luxembourg which took them to the Wacken Open Air Festivak in August 2007 to make the metal world experience their unique wall of massive metal sound.

In August, Abstract Rapture hooked up with maddening media who immediatly sent them to the Tidalwave Studios to record their full-length album "Democadencie".

On April 2009, after 6 years of hard and prolific work, the Raptors and their bass player Rol decide to separate unanymously. Former bass player, Stephen Elkington, has rejoined the band.
