Steve Lyon was born in Bolton Lancashire and moved down to the south in 1980. He is a session musician and producer and currently operates his own studio in kent
In his early Teens, Steve played Cello in a Schools Orchestra, but left that aside for guitar. He had learned piano as a youngster, but didn't enjoy the process. In his 20's he re-discovered keyboards and now sees himself more as a keyboards player than a guitarist - although he loves to sit down with a guitar and belt out some of the old standards.
Steve worked as a session musician in London throughout the 70's and 80's and worked with many of the leading musicians and producers. He became dissolusioned with the industry for a while and pursued other projects, but came back to music in the 90's. The rise of computer sytems in studio technology became a great part of his work - and still is.
In 2002 following a conversation with a producer he was working with, Steve decided to embark on the project of producing an instrumental album of his own arrangements of classic rock and pop songs.
He decided after a great deal of thought to produce a trilolgy of albums which he named "Moments" The process was very difficult because he had to fit it in with his other work as well as dealing with some fairly horrendous personal problems.
Moments Vol 1 was all but completed by August 2003, Moments Volume 2 was around 75% complete and Moments Volume 3 was little more than 50% done, but his personal life took over and he shelved the project.
In 2008 he had the time and space to go back to the project and he completed Volume 1, but the master was destroyed in an accident and he had to redo all the changes and edits (something that's always difficult second time round).
Moments Volume One was released in May 2010, and Volume Two in August of the same year and Moments Volume Three was released in June of 2011.
On June 24th 2011 the first collaboration album with Chris Lea "Movie Moments" was released. They are in the process of producing another album, slated for release in November - details will be available on this site later in the year.
