Phil Theofilos Xenidis (Greek Θεόφιλος Ξενίδης, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, March 10, 1966), known artistically as Phil X, is a Canadian guitarist of Greek descent. Since 2016 he is the official guitarist of Bon Jovi, replacing the original member Richie Sambora.

Biography
In 1982 he formed the heavy metal band Sidinex (name of his own choosing, meaning his last name backwards) with singer Todd Farhood, bassist and drummer Kevin Gingrinch of Scott Masterson. There was a single EP release in 1985, Forever Young, before changing the name to Flip City in 1987, after a short time in the rock world the band finally disbanded.

An opportunity in Xenidis' career came when in 1990 he toured with Randy Coven, whom he met through Aldo Nova; In 1991, he toured the US with Aldo Nova. From 1992 to 1993 he performed with Triumph, recording the album Edge of Excess and subsequently touring with them.

Phil X is a prolific studio guitarist with a preference for Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Alternative Rock, Melodic Rock, Industrial Rock.

He has been on albums by Tommy Lee, Methods of Mayhem, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Orianthi, Rob Zombie, Chris Daughtry, Alice Cooper, Thousand Foot Krutch, and many others. He wrote the song "Tired" and also played guitar on the Tommy Lee Tommyland: The Ride album. Phil has appeared with Tommy Lee and Bon Jovi on the popular television show Ellen, and with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. Phil X appeared in the "making of" video for the film Josie and the Pussycats. He acted as a music teacher and taught young actors to appear as if they were actually playing their instruments.

In 2011 Phil X replaced Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, who missed 13 concerts after entering rehab, and did the same in 2013 when Sambora left the band for personal reasons. With Bon Jovi he made the rest of the tour performing at festivals like Rock in Rio or venues like Hyde Park. Phil later returned to his band.

In 2015, when Bon Jovi's next new album and the corresponding world tour were confirmed, Math Bongiovi, the band's manager, was asked about the addition of a new guitarist after Richie Sambora's departure, to which Math answered no there would be a new official guitarist, but it would be a hired one who would take charge of filling the vacancy. Later it was confirmed that Phil X will continue to be available for the concerts.

Since June 2016 he is considered the official guitarist of the band Bon Jovi after the departure of his previous guitarist Richie Sambora in 2013, who stated that he would not return to the band.
