Lyzz Lopez (professionally known as Lyzzette Lopez and Lyzzette Lopez-Marin) is a New York–based vocalist whose career spans rock, metal, and sacred music, distinguished by exceptional range, versatility, and musical authority.

A graduate of the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts (Dramatic Arts, Class of 1983), Lyzz was discovered at age sixteen singing in Central Park by producer and talent manager Mark Barkan. This led to early studio recordings of Barkan’s original compositions, featuring collaborations with Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora (lead guitar) and keyboardist/composer Bruce Stephen Foster. Following graduation from high school, she trained with renowned New York vocal coach Don Lawrence, developing an extraordinary eight-octave range and a powerful melodic belt.

In late 1983, Lyzz became the lead vocalist for Original Sin, a Brooklyn-based metal band founded by Josh Silver (Type O Negative) and John Campos (now producer, songwriter, and CEO of One Mind Music). She co-wrote original material with Josh and John and garnered attention for her commanding vocals and ability to authentically perform both male and female lead repertoire in a male-dominated genre. After the band disbanded in 1987, she continued with solo projects and later co-founded the hard-rock/progressive band Babylon with guitarist Tom Rubertone and bassist Rich Angelini.

In the early 1990s, Lyzz stepped away from active performance to pursue a life of faith, focusing on songwriting and studio work. In 2024, she entered full communion with the Catholic Church and now devotes her musical vocation to sacred worship. She is currently pursuing studies in Syriac (Maronite), Gregorian, and Coptic chant and is training for cantor certification through the St. Cecilia Academy of the Archdiocese of New York.
