Larry Lee Hansen, known professionally as Larry The Lion, is an American musician, songwriter, producer, and graphic artist. Hansen has been involved with many bands and recording projects, including Balsam Grove, Clancy Maverick, and Caves of Glass. Hansen is also the founder of independent record label Just Noise Music, and its imprint, Feral Mountain Music.
Growing up in Alaska, Hansen became interested in music at an early age, while attending local punk rock/heavy metal shows and eventually played in several local bands as a teenager. By the time he was 18, he moved from Alaska to travel the United States and pursue a more committed musician lifestyle. Hansen lived in Texas for several years, where he played in the alternative metal/post-hardcore band Balsam Grove while studying sound recording at Del Mar College.
In 2020, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hansen permanently relocated to Seattle, Washington where he works independently as Larry The Lion. His debut single, LION MODE: VOL. 1, on April 20, 2023. The second release, LION MODE: VOL. 2 is expected to be released September 2023.
