Donnie Steele was one of the original guitarists for Slipknot; he played guitar on Slipknot's first release, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. However, in February 1996, Steele left Slipknot due to his Christian beliefs. Prior to Slipknot, Steele played in Body Pit with Slipknot members Mick Thomson, Paul Gray and Anders Colsefini.

Steele currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa with his girlfriend Joni Lawler and three children. His current musical endeavors include Upon Death's Arrival and teaching guitar at Central Iowa Music Instruction in Des Moines' East Village.

He recorded on ALL of the songs on the CD Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. He quit the band for personal reasons (he found God, and felt there was a conflict) while we were still finishing up the mixing. Mick wasn't even on the album, though his picture is in there. Little else is known about Donnie. He chose to remain on the anonymous side.
