Chris Roetter was born in Tipp City, Dayton, Ohio. He started off as the lead vocalist for post-hardcore act Emarosa in 2007, and released "This Is Your Way Out EP" on Standby Records. Soon after, he left the band.

Later that year, he formed a Christian screamo band called Agraceful, and he recorded with the band "The Great I Am" in 2008 on Sumerian Records. However, in 2010, though it was not officially announced, it became evident that the band has split up.

In 2009, Chris joined Christian metalcore band Corpus Christi after Will Henry's departure, but left soon afterwards and was replaced by Max O'Connell.

During 2010, Chris formed, along with members from electronic deathcore band TerraFirma, the metalcore act Like Moths To Flames, and released "Sweet Talk EP" on Rise Records later that year.

He did guest vocals for "Clots" by Vessels (Now known as The Plot In You).
