I didn’t really know what to expect from a band with a name ringing so gothic. But in fact, I would have made a big mistake not listening to this
World Under Control. This album is really one of pure French metal. Even more, I consider it the French revelation of the year. So, before starting the article, hats off to the band.
The first thing that literally impressed me in this album is the ease with which the band succeeded in perfectly mixing so many different influences. It’s really amazing. To that extend, the album could nearby be described as an “encyclopaedia” of musical styles. Indeed,
World Under Control contains jazzy, folk, avant-gardist and various types of metal touches. You mix all these elements and you get this idyllic album. I really take a lot of pleasure listening to it thanks to how natural and sincere the compos sound. No swagger, one will find only titles rich and falsely simple at the same time. While the band
Sybreed amazed me with falsely simple rhythmics,
Uncolored Wishes offers us a music rich and falsely bald. With the very atmospheric ambiances, the nearly neo passages or the folk kicks, everything is perfectly under control and goes off smoothly.
If this album seems so perfect, it is of course due to how exceptional the musicians are. Guitar, bass, drums and keyboard, each position is hold by a true musician.
And despite not being a big fan of keyboards, the result sounds very nice to me here because all the sonorities are perfectly included inside the music. What? You also want to know my feelings about the singer? Ok! I think it will be enough to say that he is impressive. His singing sounds as heavy and as powerful as one can dream of.
The overall production is also excellent. The instruments complete one another very harmoniously, without any mixing issue. It’s impressive.
No need to add anything else: listen to this album, enjoy it, and buy it. It is as simple as that !!!!!!!
