Grabnebelfürsten

Review @ larsen

06 February 2007
Grabnebelfürsten...Well, I must admit that I never heard this name before I had the opportunity to listen to a track of this demo on a VA Compilation of a german fanzine, more or less 6 years ago. I was immediately captivated by the music of this amazing band mixing perfectly melody and power in its compositions. Moreover, the songwriting is not common and proves Grabnebelfürsten's ability to create something new without betraying the roots of Black Metal. Anyway, trying to categorize the music of the band would reduce it too much. Beyond the words Black Metal or Symphonic Black Metal, or even Heavy/Black Metal, I would more insist in the originality of this band, and the very high quality of the songs. Shortly after this CD that was considered as being one of the best german demos that was ever released, Grabnebelfürsten recorded its first official album "Von Schemen und Trugbildern" that contains some songs of "Sakralästhetik". Although you can find these tracks on the album and of course with a better sound quality, I'd suggest you to listen to this demo that was incredibly good beacause all the tracks are absolute masterpieces which deserve to be known. If you are looking for Black Metal with melodic touches, deep atmospheres, rythmic variations, some original riffs and incredibly good catchy elements, this is for you. This demo represents the perfect way between melody and hatred.
