No fancy intros for these Dutchmen, straight to the metal tipped point, it's obvious that this self-financed promo isn't counting on a lot of prisoners.
And true enough, the tried mixture of death metal and hardcore just doesn't trap my attention beyond the opening track. The five featured songs are typically stale compositions that do not showcase much creativity. However, there is definitely an energy there that is upheld by the gritty production, which lends a little more aggression to the overall sound.
Despite the less than exciting nature of "Rebuilding the
Monolith", this band is still young and the potential to improve is certainly there. Perhaps their next release will be the lethal strike they're looking for. 63/100
