Seasons Of The Wolf

timeless and independent US Metal

And since there were only three: Barry Waddell (guitar), Dennis Ristow (keyboard) and Wes Wadell (vocals).
For over three years - with varying rhythm section - the recording process moved. No ideal conditions for a band that does everything himself, from production to distribution of the albums, but `Once In A Blue Moon` is definitely what is called a masterpiece.

What remains are on the (so far) last album SOTW `s preference for the seventies, often one thinks not only a result of the guitar sounds of BLACK SABBATH, Barry Waddell itself is here artistically to put on a par with Iommi because EVERY RIFF , EVERY SOLO ON THIS ALBUM IS A DIVINE!
The keyboard sounds are a discographical cross section through the entire career of the band (from "organ" on "Horror" to spacy) and their partly reach the class of a Jon Lord . From now Dennis Ristow should be unmistakable and unique for everyone.
Singer Wes Waddell previously was already unmistakable with his expressive voice, but on `Once In A Blue Moon` his voice sounds even more intense(the theatricality of a KING DIAMOND me here comes to mind). Apparently by the numerous guest appearances - which were due to the cast chaos - one is here represented every kind of tempo and also to `Nocturnal Revelation` rampant penchant for funky Epic Doom is gone.
Whether SOTW are rocking psychodelic with the great `Wings Of Doom`, `The Reaper`, `Name Your Poison`,
they are setting emotionally moving moments with `Nikhedonia`, `In The Shadows`, `Ghost Woman`
or do something epical work with the impregnable `Battle Scars`which tops all the other songs on the album again:
Here everything is perfect , no sound unnecessarily , you are hypnotized and forget the dreary, gray world out there.
The rest of the songs also be superb. With a wrecking Ball like `Peace On Earth` - remember on MANILLA ROAD - for example you can clear the forest on the outskirts before the authentic soundtrack of an `Alien Landscape` blow your mind and you make a great journey through `The Edge Of Time`!

If you like US Metal with progressive influences and bands like MECYFUL FATE / KING DIAMOND, BLACK SABBATH , SAVATAGE and MANILLA ROAD, this one here is one of the best heavy metal albums of all time .
Or, as it unequivocally in `Snaggletooth` is called

"Stronger ... Faster ... Wiser ... Louder ... Forever!"
