Morifade

Here We Have To Do With The Foundation Of Technical Power

Ok, ladies and gentlemen, tell me something, when was the last time that you heard something different and somehow new from the typical European style of power metal? … I do not see raised hands and this means two things, that you cannot remember that time or you have not heard anything like this. The two basic clues of Morifade in their new album Empire of Souls are the tradition sound of their country, it smells Sweden from miles and miles away and secondly, this album may be the beginning of technical power.

The work of the band on the songs is really good, each song sounds different from the others and this makes the album be heard without boredom. I must declare you from the first moment that from the first listening you will not find all the special characteristics in it. You need to spend more time to realize them and trust me you will not get disappointed.

The first impression comes from the guitar parts, great riffs, great rhythm sections and the best is the heavy volume on the sound. From the first song “Bleeding for lust” everything is clear, “we are from Sweden and we want to have a traditional sound and rhythm of our country” and they are right and if you want to see what I mean when I say the foundation of technical power, “Come in blood” and “Resemblance of hate” are the obvious proves, check the technical brakes on guitars or the drumming of Kirm Arnell. Songs that make you understand that this is the power metal of nowadays, close to and yet far from the typical one. But these songs are not sound perfect as technical as they should be and this because it is just the birth which is raw and the perfection appears after, during the evolution of the band.

Apart from all these I have mentioned till now, I also want to write about the melody of Morifade and they could not act on another way, because they come from Sweden, the country that melody is the main part of all the bands of all the styles in metal. Well, “My silent serenade” covers the above prologue about melody, from the beginning till the end of it and this captivating chorus imprinted in mind at once. Now I see for one more time why we love so many songs like this one the defenders of power metal!

But things are not be completed here, I am sure that you are thinking of “all those sound good to us, but anything about fast songs”? Of course, two songs are enough to make forget what you have known about power till now, “Road of deception” whose ending is fantastic and “Impact of vanity” will be fan – favorite as a result of their powerful and speedy riffs and of the voice Kristian Wallin, who may is not the best singer, but he knows very well how to exalt a song.

Well, my friends here new gates open, something really good is going to happen, I will begin supporting them because I see the future of power metal on their hands, they have abilities and the only left they have to do is to pass on the other side of perfection. They need it and we need it! Ah, something last, it seems that another band from Sweden will make the difference!
