Infernum

Hard to believe no one has written a review for this awesome demo yet. Well, I'll give it a go then.

Infernum to me was one of the greatest Polish Black Metal bands. I say was because what is left of this band nowadays is a feeble joke I'm sorry to say. Back in `93 Infernum was still in the hands of Anextiomarus [RIP] who set the gloomy musical course. Anextiomarus who was later despised in the scene for being a traitor and a schizophrenic made some pretty fucking great stuff no matter how the story goes.

Starting off with a strange intro in the typical Infernum style. "The Pagan Winds" hits of with a nice fast double bass which holds a prominent place throughout both tracks. Though not stated on the cover, I suppose Tom Balrog is handling the drums on this tape. Judging the quality of the drumming I think it's save to say it's not Capricornus who plays more sloppy. The guitar riffs combined with the sinister synth's of Icaunis [Darken?] create a grim and very dark atmosphere familair to Infernum. Also "The Dawn Will Never Come" has yet again some great drumparts. Anextiomarus screams his evil soul out and torments his guitarstrings.

I love the picture on the cover of ye old witchessabbath very fitting to the music. All in all I for one am glad I have a copy of this at home !
