Rainfall (USA)

Review @ giganticbrain

29 July 2008
I really wish I could give Aether a better rating, yet I'm forced to drop the rating lower. This was not that great of a release, but like many other people, I see a future in this guy.
This stuff may suck, but if he explores the world of black metal : he'll be sure to find his way around a good black metal song.
The two tracks on here are okay at best, and I really have hope for a future release.

The other band, on the other hand, doesn't having so much of a glimmering future.
On this album, it looks as if he just wanted to dominate Aether with twice as many tracks… yet, he still didn't add up to how much time Rainfall took up.

A failed attempt at best… Also, why does Umbra obsess over forests so much ?
"Awakening of the Forest's Malevolence", "Dark Whispers of the Forest" and "Condemned To The Forest".
I think that three forest themed titles are far too many for one album. Two is even pushing it, yet Umbra thought he would brush pass the boundaries of equality in a black metal / ambient album. Even as much as I love the forest would not do such a thing.

Umbra's tracks are weak at best. The show nothing except a shrimpy man huddled over his $25 dollar MIDI keyboard, occasionally plugging it into FL Studio to make a more interesting chord. Its really quite lame, and it bludgeoned my ears to the point of no return.

An okay split, with one band better than the other one. Keep trying Rainfall… and stop wasting your time, Umbra !
