J'ai découvert le Metal en 1984 grâce à une K7 qu'un collègue de mon père avait faite rien que pour me faire découvrir sa musique de prédilection.
Dedans, y avait pèle mèle du ZZ TOP, Led Zep', Def Leppard, Kiss, Rush, Maiden, Scorpions et bien d'autres.
J'ai épuisé cette K7 durant de nombreux mois à force de l'écouter.
35 ans plus tard, spa forcément la même playlist que je proposerais, tant le Metal a évolué avec l'émergence de nouveaux styles dont toute la ribambelle estampillée "extrême".
J'essaierai autant que faire se peut de proposer un truc couvrant un large panel stylistique et ça donnerait à peu près ça (premier et unique jet) :

tu as mis 2 fois Pantera cow boys from hell et perso je te conseillerais 1000 fois l'album Far Beyond Driven à la place qui est un album d'une brutalité exceptionelle pour du Thrash metal ( certain me diront nan c'est du powermetal ) 
j'ajouterai en deathcore un groupe comme Humanity's last breath avec leur derner ...abyssal qui déboite sévère....................
En death metal MALEVOLENT CREATION avec l'album ETERNAL semble approprié aussi
Toujours pas de DEVIN TOWNSEN ce serait incontournable de le mettre car ce mec ne se fout pas de son public
Elle commence a avoir de la gueule ta liste
Et bien je pense qu'avec une telle liste, si ton ami ne trouve pas au minimum quelques pépites c'est qu'il n'est pas du tout fait pour ce genre musical..
Tiens, par contre, pour Carcass, je ne comprends pas trop le choix de Surgical Steel, qui est bien, mais n'est quand même pas au niveau d'un Necroticism, qui est un peu le sommet du groupe (encore que certains choisiraient plutôt Heartwork). Surgical Steel, c'est pas l'album le plus significatif du groupe.
Toujours pas de "Appetite for destruction" de Guns N Roses ! 
Et pour Bathory leur premier semble incontournable, non ?
