I feel exactly the same, those three albums are the essence of Slayer ! SNM is raw and Evil, Hell Awaits is more complicated, it's fast, it's difficult to understand for the first time, RIB is pure aggression and hatred. Cheers, Refractorhead

I don't remember answering this thread and I'm too Lazy to check.

My favourite Slayer album has to be Reign In Blood, it is almost (what I would call) the perfect Thrash Metal album. The music is fast, furious and most of all, it makes sense. Also, the track Raining Blood contains what could have been the first breakdowns, now many bands often try and recreate it, especially Hardcore bands.

Some of the first 'breakdowns' came from some of the earliest music.
Aaaaand there are plenty of interludes (breakdowns) all over the Mozart/Beethoven/Bach records I own.

0 I was just a guess, but I'm pretty sure the style used in Raining Blood influenced Hardcore bands more than Mozart did 0  (unless this isn't true as well)

So I brought up classical music in the first place because I like it and therefore it's easy to reference to illustrate that interludes are old-time shit.

sooooooo... you're saying that all the music we listen to now is just classical music taken to the next level and there is no such thing as metal because it's just another fancy name for Extreme classical music?
