Black metal? Untrue? What?
Black metalists are probably the biggest metal purists I've seen... though then again there are barely any metal fans in my Area, let alone the 'purists' and the ones with superiority complexes.

Oh, and to miniradman, I heard Medusa, with lyrics. Those lyrics are so corny I was laughing the whole time. Especially the line 'So why don't you just fuck yourself you fucking whore'. 0  And yeah, there's still a bunch of chugging in this. The band has some good instrument players, but aside from that it ain't good.

Also, just saying, in the vid of Medusa I watched there was a slideshow for a video and one of the pictures was a kit of Guitar Hero. Bust a gut laughing there, too.

The problem with meeting true Black Metal "kvltists" is that I think most of em are the shut-in hermit types... I haven't met many of em around here either, I'm sure they're out there, just in hiding.

firstly what's chugging?

and secondly for The Black metal part I was talking about the screaming thing. Yes I consider Black Metal real metal but there are some softer artists that have nice soft music but have screamish kinda vocals (Brocken Moon).

What about Screamo.0

If you don't like Deathcore, you don't like Deathcore fair enough 0

Bands like Brocken Moon are atmospherical BM, they add even more atmosphere to their music (what is already very important in BM anyways). It doesn't mean if BM isn't fast or Brutal, it isn't BM. There are alot of BM bands out there with several 'softer songs'. Example: Tears of A Dead GOD by Drowning The Light. It's a whole pianoplayed composition, no drumming no guitar,... just piano and the mysterious atmosphere. THIS is BM.

About Screamo: first we need to know what 'emo' is. Emo is an often Abused term for emotional music. If you apply that to every music style, every kind of music will be emo.

The real definition of Emo is something like this: Emo(punk) is subgenre of punkmusic that incorporates more emotional and personal aspects to the punk music. Where 'classic' punk often shows Anger,Hate, disrespect,Rebellion,... (or happiness like in poppunk, Green Day anyone?) Emo punk often sings about emotional aspects like Sadness, heartache, etc. However the way they express it is quite, euh,... exagerated. Emo has also a different subculture attached to it that has had influences from punk, altern rock and hardcore. Many idiots mistakes metalheads for emos and vice-versa, though emo has practically no influences from metal (if you don't call Metalcore real metal).
Screamo has the same thematics of Emo but adds to the whiny clean vox of Emo screaming that is taken from the hardcore/metalcore culture. Both Emo and screamo have a very bad reputation in both mainstream as underground subculture. Some rumours are prob prejudices like people have with every subcultures. Though it has been proven several times that some of those rumours are right. There were already juridical processes versus several emo bands for promoting self-mutilation and suicide.

If you want to know why a Black Metal fan like me knows so much about emomusic, I'll give you two answers:
A. There are emos at my school, so know how they are
B; Sun Tzu said once: Know Thy Enemy

Chugging is a Sign that a band is trying way too hard to be heavy, and rather than actually put effort into standout riffs that sound heavy, they resort to chugging, which is:
Extremely boring, redundant, Lazy, terrible riffs that all sound almost identical no matter which band is doing it. Here's some examples:

1:03 to 1:30 of BMTH's 'Pray for Plagues'
The entire song 'No Time to Bleed' by SS

Oh and I found out while looking for examples that B4MV has a Metallica cover. Ohhhhhh God.

of course is not chugging not a synonym of a breakdown. A breakdown is the cheap Hardcore replacement of a solo; Where metal does a solo, hardcore/deathcore does a breakdown.
About that cover of B4MV, i know its terrible

Hmmmmm? is that opinon or fact? cos InfinityZero described the whole song No Time To Bleed chugging. There is no way that whole song could have been a solo 0.

Also I like B4MV and all but their Cover Of Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train was a Disgrace.
