Well is isn't exactly 100% Deathcore. I think their 1st album is more Deathcore than No Time To Bleed. When I say Cross I mean like 15% Grind and 75% Deathcore. It's like BFMV you would say that they are Metalcore but never consider them to be thrash. But infact 20% of their music is thrash. I'm not trying to say that it was 50/50, I was trying to say it was alot more Grindcore Influenced than their first album.

No, Suicide Silence has no distinguishing bits of grindcore. You know what Grindcore is, right?

Because the production on the Suicide Silence album 'No Time to Bleed' is so clean it's practically been sterilized.  I can go on and on about why it's not Grindcore, but...
it's just too obvious.

No, I really don't. There's no grind in Suicide Silence whatsoever. Also if you call Bring Me The Horizon thrash in any way again I will jump through your monitor and slap your shit.

EDIT: InfinityZero, you're a cool kid. Just wanted to let you know.

Oh shit, my bad, misread that. Stupid abbreviations.
Actually, my point still stands. BFMV aren't thrash in any way either.

What? BFMV aren't thrash?

Hmmmmmm. They have so many thrash influences in their music. If what you are saying is true, that Means everying I know about BFMV is not true. But they are not exactly 100% Metalcore are they? When I bought the No Time To Bleed album there was a little sticker on it saying "No Time To Bleed is an incerdible mix of Deathcore and Grindcore" is this wrong aswell. Because I should notify my local JB store of false advertising.

But I find it very hard to believe that Bullet For My Valentine aren't thrash in any way. Also someone commented on my album review of The Poison, she said that The Poison is 20% Thrash and 80% metalcore. hmmm, I'm confused now 0

Since the Origin of BFMV there is a discussion if BFMV has thrash influences or not. About one year ago I liked BFMV (now it isn't my favourite band anymore but I like their music, that's all). IMO and for many critics BFMV DO have some thrashy things in their music. Their sound is not as hardcore/deathcore aimed like for example Devil Wears Prada or As I Lay Dying. The guys of BFMV seem to be musically more intrested in Metal than hardcore. That's what I made up from several interviews, their music, their covers etc...

Mate, if you're gonna believe everything a sticker on an album says about an Extreme metal band, well...
Merketers don't know what the fuck they're talking about when in comes to metal and I seriously doubt they have even heard a Sucide Silence song if they affiliate it with grindcore. Those stickers normally just say 'Featuring the single (blank) and (blank)' or 'Includes Bonus "Aske" EP'. Something factual and solid like that. Really, if you want me to point out every reason Suicide Silence is not Grindcore, I can, but... listen to an album like Reek of Putrefaction and come back and tell me Suicide Silence is grindcore.

As far as Bullet For My Valentine goes, well, I'm sorry but having 3-4 minute songs with a verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus song structure almost all the time doens't put them under thrash. The only thing that really does is the agression in their music (but which metal genre doesn't have a little agression these days?), and that they talk about politics and life. So no, I wouldn't call em thrash, but thrash or not, the band sucks, in my opinion.

I'm not saying they are Thrash. I'm saying that they are Heavily Thrash influenced

That may be, but I think I read somewhere that about 70-80% metal bands today are (in some way) inspired by Metallica, who is a Thrash Metal band. So yeah, I can believe that Bullet For My Valentine is thrash influenced.

What difference does it make if they were influenced by thrash bands or not when there's Zero thrash in their sound? BFMV should not be in any way associated with Thrash Metal ever.

Besides, I'm sure TONS of metal bands are influenced by Metallica, they're a gateway band that got many, many people into metal, but that doesn't make all of those bands thrash influenced. Not by a long shot. Anything after ...and Justice For All by Metallica isn't really pure thrash anyways.

Also, I'm curious how you come up with these percentages. 20% thrash, 80% Metalcore, 15% grindcore...how exactly do you find these out? Are you listening to every single riff on each album and then objectively deciding whether that riff could be considered thrash or metalcore?

That's the only possible answer I could come up with. Either that or you're talking out of your ass.
EDIT: I was addressing miniradman in that last paragraph, not InfinityZero's "70-80% of bands are influenced by Metallica" shpiel.
