I think that people should just respect other people for their religion and what they believe in, everybody has differant beliefs. I am a satanist.

I am very tolerant of other religions even though I do not identify with any particular group. I have my beliefs (or lack of depending on how you look at it) but I do not really agree with the idea of organized religion.

I am Christian so, I think GOD exists.   I also accept other people not believing in God.  I tend to leave them alone.

I'm a peaceful, happy and proud atheist. I am open minded, but as Richard Dawkins says ''By all Means let's be open-minded, but not so open-minded that our brains drop out'' I respect that some people feel the need for Faith, my mother is religious and she says she needs her Faith and i respect that. One thing that really gets up my nose is when someone says the words she/he is a christian child or a Jewish child or a Islamic child and so on. Stop labeling the children, let them grow up and make up their own minds, don't Brainwash them into something. If i was a communist, I wouldn't say my child is a communist child but I would say he/she is a child from a communist parent, just like I was a child from a christian parent and not a christian child. I applaud my mum for bringing me up to be open minded and liberal. I do think my mum and other religious people are a little mad! well wouldn't you call me MAD if i said i believed in Santa or the unicorns. To believe in something i need to see the evidence. At least science tries to find out the answers like, how the Universe was created. I can't believe that a GOD created the Universe because that's what it says in a very old book that was written back when people said the world was flat and the sun revolves around the Earth and if I don't believe in it then I will spend Eternity In Hell, that is not evidence, that is being ignorant and closed minded to the facts. Another Richard Dawkins Quote "Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think
and evaluate evidence. Faith is the belief in spite of, even perhaps
because of, the lack of evidence." So true. PEACE.

no one even parents can force a religion upon someone cause believe and Faith is a personal feeling but you gotta accept that their is a thing as a religious education and so a christian child Born by christian parents gets a christian education and becomes a christian child thats the nature of things (and for a fact i know that jews for example always believed that the Earth was round but once upon a time people would get slaughtered for believing the Earth is round) but real religion and Faith  is something the person can only gain by himself no matter how "brainwashed" he was in his youth since its a personal feeling a education is only a foundation to one surten believe that the person can think about whether its the real one or not

Yes they can, and it happens all the time.

he or she becomes a christian child by brainwashing.

I don't know about you, but I was never taught about the Genius of Darwin.
All I had was lessons on religion and only the christian religion I might add.

Don't you think I should have been taught about an alternative to GOD, a theory about Evolution and natural selection?

like i said parents can give their kids a christian education and then the child will probably be a christian child but at a surten age any kid no matter wat religion will start thinking is it true or not now when i say force to believe i mean to believe
anyone can force a fellow person to ACT religious but not to believe and if someone gets a religious education and that religion makes sense to him he will contineu the way he was educated but if it doesnt make sense to him he will drop the fact that people ACT religious out of fear respect or force or any personal interest does not mean they really believe and love their religion

Do you think that children should be taught about, Darwin, Evolution and Natural Selection.

Monday 02 August 2010 - 23:31:14
they for sure should be told about it people have the right to know what is going on in the world but anyhow if your not told about those things as a kid you usually hear about them when you grow up by the way natural selection is allready spoken of in the bible in the old Testament
