Mercenarion says : Are you kidding? I give that 10/10 on the kvlt scale. On enjoyment, 1/10. I heard the melodies, but they were quite boring, to be honest.
You guys are philistines!!!! You don't know a work of art when you see it!!!!
...nah, I wasn't really expecting anybody to like that. I think they're gonna become my new pet band though. I'll probably review them, so at leats I don't look like a kvlt retard when I praise them.

Wow, that was awesome. 9/10. Deffinately gonna look into Spiritual Dissection. They don't sound like a band i've ever heard. Unique, technical and damn good listening. Cheers Merc
k, i didnt like Nile 2, 3 years back. But i read a review on Those Whom the Gods Detest, and decided to give them a shot. Man am i glad i did!
2 favourite songs from the opus:
"I Wish I had that AR-15 in here, then I could probably get out.....I don't like being locked up, it's not very nice."

4/10. boooooooooooooooooooooring. Seriously does Karl Sanders have to fucking wank every goddamn 2 seconds? Way too much guitar masturbation, not enough of it is interesting, and it NEVER ENDS. I really like the IDEA of Nile, I really want to like them, they're one of the few bands that actually manages to fully integrate their gimmick into their music, but their albums bore the shit outta me every time.
anyways.
HOLY ASS AMBIENT Ulver IS AMAZING GODDAMN THESE GUYS ARE FAST BECOMING ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST The Black METAL THAT WAS GOOD IT WASN'T YEEEEEEEEEEAH BABY
listen to that shit. If it doesn't move you then you have no soul. Like seriously.

10/10 Heeeeeeey, I posted that song once and you gave it 10/10 Hah, I love new Ulver. I don't care what a lot of 'old' Ulver fans think. Although Nothing beats Bergtatt, Shadows, Perdition City, Quick Fix and Lyckantropen all Kick ass.
Anyways, godly calming music with an incredible sense of calm solitude. The organ at the beginning is so haunting and Garm's baritone, although monotone on Shadows, is an incredible mood-setter. I love the lyrics to death, as with all Ulver songs, and while lyrics usually don't effect music, these stimulate great imagery to go along with the sound of the music. I love the warbling computerized vox towards The End too, they add such a strong (yet surreal) extra dimension to the song.
(Side note, I found out there's a Shadows of the Sun patch out there but they're EXTREMELY hard to find. I want one for my battle jacket like crazy.)
I almost wanted to post an Ulver song, and I would've if you hadn't posted one. I'll post it later, I guess. For now, CARCASS.

Enigmatick says : I just listened to Blinded by Blood...I almost cried. Dear GOD that was more than music. That was love.
Ah yeah, I felt the same way my first time.
The album it's off of surprisingly isn't that great (by Ulver standards), even though that one track is one of my favorite by Ulver. Dressed in Black was another really good one from that album, and For the Love of GOD if you can handle the poppiness of it. I do album art for bands! @Enig: Yeah i see where you are coming from. I didnl't like Nile either, but then again i was only getting into heavier music, and i only heard part of Ithyphalic (if that's how you spell it) and a bit of Annihilation of the wicked. But, i find that listening to Metal in general with the lyrics also helps to how i percieve them. If i dont have their lyrics and cant understand them i tend to day dream and not really listen to the music. Maybe try Those Whom The Gods Detest with the lyrics? Who knows.
As for Carcass, 7/10. I liked that. I quite like Heartwork, although ive only listened to half the album because i havent had the time. Mini showed me some of their older stuff to listen and i didnt go much on it. But this album is the lead up to Heartwork, and it deffinately has similarities to Heartwork. Anyway im blubbering.
(i might blubber a bit more ). I read on some thread about mini and trad metal. Merc told him to check out Manilla Road. So i thought, 'what the heck', ill post this one for Mini. (MR, are damn good Trad metal and a good starter for anyone getting into TM)
Damn couldnt pick my favourite song. Here's three of my favourites:
